Local Producers Program

At the Flying Apron, we try to promote environmentally sound choices. These take the form of healthy products for the environment of the individual, sustainable practices for the environment of the planet, and also sound business decisions to promote a healthy economic environment.

 

One of the ways we try to accomplish this is through our Local Producers Program, which encourages cooperation, knowledge sharing, and community building within our local area. We believe that working with companies in an environment of shared values truly creates sustainable positive growth, as opposed to methods such as donations, which, although noble, do not provide lasting benefits.

Contracted purchases – We contribute to a guaranteed income by agreeing to purchase a pre-set amount of your product

Share our knowledge of specialty requirements – We are experts in vegan and gluten-free products and are happy to educate

Shared costs of transportation – We have a distribution system that can be leveraged to bring your ingredients to our facility

Shared costs of processing raw products – Knowing that gluten-free can be difficult, we are willing to help turn your raw product into an ingredient for our products while keeping true to gluten-free and vegan requirements

In-store marketing – We are excited to let our community know about our local ingredients

Outlet for products with the Flying Apron – We will sell local ingredients in our retail stores and on-line

Web marketing – A link on our web site

Cross-marketing – Ability for producers to find a new audience in our community

Opportunity to grow – As we grow in a predictable and consistent manner , so will the opportunities for our partners

What we look for

Competitive pricing – We are willing to share what we have, but have no desire to increase costs to our customers

Predictable product delivery with minimum levels guaranteed – We need to ensure our products can be made

Gluten-free certification

Consistency and quality – We have high but attainable standards and expect our trusted partners to have these same standards.  We immediately address all product complaints and expect the same from our partners.
